Welcome!

Cody Steger just graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in professional journalism.  He has a fixation with the world of sports and influses his knowledge of sports with his writing skills.  Steger enjoys to take an analytic standpoint with sports and keeps track of advanced statistics.

 

Currently, Steger is in the works of creating a new sports website that combines sports writing with fantasy sports and the world of sportsbooks.

 

Steger previously worked on on the sports desk with the St. Paul Pioneer Press.  He was an sports reporter intern at the newspaper where he was able to upgrade the number of clips while gaining infinite knowledge of addtional sports and a boost in reporting skills. He covered a vast range of sports: from football to wrestling, from volleyball to hockey. 

 

He was also the associate editor and lead writer for Gold and Gopher, a Minnesota Golden Gopher based FanSided blog run (featured on Sports Illustrated).  He wrote a multitude of articles weekly on the site, while upkeeping its social media with the lead editor.

 

Steger also runs and co-hosts the online sports radio show, The Halftime Show.

 

He has also worked for SBNation, Skyword, Patch, and various other websites in the past.

Besides his passions of writing and sports, Steger has a knack for puns.  He also has an interest in men's fashion, including an adorement for track jackets and plaid shirts.  His diet contains of Mountain Dew and candy.

 

Within this site is a multitude of pieces that Steger has written since the beginning of college.  As his editor at the Pioneer Press explained to him...the writing will become perfect in time, but it's the intangibles that you already possess that will get you far in you career.
